people who do not communicate or read

I've been trying really hard to find people to write with lately (most have ended up gh/sting), and one thing about me is that i try to move conversation along by asking questions about who they are writing, how they write, and what types of plots or settings they'd be interested in, in case they aren't interested in my original one. So far, I have gotten people who don't have muses, who want ME to give THEM a muse to write, who want me to write their muses, and people who just flat out don't help me with plotting.

Twice have I talked to people this week, where I would ask them a question about what they want to do or mention an idea i have, and their reaction would simply be "okay". "Okay" what?? Do you not have any thoughts or ideas yourself? Or questions for me? Did you think I was just going to give you some muses and a script to follow? I do not want to carry the conversation, i'm TERRIBLE at talking to people, but i am always the one having to take the lead and hold their hands through what is essentially an interview to play dolls. They don't even bother trying to sound interested, either, so it just feels like they're annoyed that i'm talking to them when they're the one who dm-ed me.

They also seem to not read, as I get people looking for romance, when I have stated that i'm not interested, and they don't know where i write even though it is in the ad as well. i just don't understand how it's like this. i might as well just write by myself.

maybe this is because of the platform i'm advertising/writing on?? i have no idea. it didn't seem this bad a few years ago. anyway, rant over
