Why does EVERYBODY want to do Mechanical and then Aerospace?

I guess its all those Christopher Nolan movies and shorts/reels/tiktoks that diverted every freshman towards space. I am following the same trend myself (I am a freshman too) and doubting it now. I'm still gonna do mech-e but i fear Aerospace and Mech-e will be oversaturated and it's going down the same path as computer science, IT, etc.
