Does anyone else notice that there seems to be less average people online dating?

In my every day life I would say most of the people I come across are somewhat average looking, average in appearance and build, but online dating it feels like there are two camps - the athletes with perfect teeth that look like models, and the people who don’t seem to really put much effort at all into their health or appearance.

I’m a very average looking middle aged woman - I’m healthy, work out a little sometimes, and have a healthy bmi, but I certainly drink a soda once in a while and eat cookies. I wouldn’t consider myself “fit” looking. My face is cute I guess and I put effort into grooming and trying to dress as nice as I can, but I’m poor so that means no Botox or anything like that and I look very “middle class single mom”.

I would love to find someone I feel comfortable with, someone average like me. I feel like there are very few average looking people on the apps though…. It’s like one extreme or the other.
