Early bird or no

With early-bird prices climbing higher over the years, what is the experience of sitting at the computer to check in 24 hours ahead of time? Are people still able to get A (middle or end of the line) or B (near the front of the line)?

Of course this will go away once they start reserve seating which will suck.
