Hou Yi and Jie Quan both come from two differing clans - the Hou and Jie Clan's. Both of these families have opposed one another for centuries, with the Jie Clan's ancestry most certainly having been responsible for much of the suffering the Hou Clan's ancestry had to endure centuries prior during Penglai's Turbulent Era.

As such, when a terrible few years long feud is finally brought to an end, both clans are forced to make up when the Feng Clan of Shang steps in to keep the peace. On the day of a ceremony meant to finally mark the end of hostilities between both clans, it is here that Hou Yi and Jie Quan finally meet.

Both have been raised with different upbringing. Hou Yi was born in a Taoist family which holds a disdain for science. Yi, however, believes that very disdain is what sets the Hou Clan back. As such, he often engages in his own scientific research in order to create one of the greatest inventions ever known to solariankind. Jie Quan however, was raised in a more martial family. Taught the basics of the art of war, he aspired to be like his ancestors, the tyrannical emperor of the once prosperous Jie Kingdom, Jie Tong. However, because of the crimes his ancestors was known for, he knew only cruelty for much of his life at the hands of others.

So when they both soon meet for the first time, it can be said there were only hostilities. But fate always had a way of bringing people together and even the greatest of enemies could soon become the closest of friends... or perhaps more.
