Why do British Columbians hate Alberta(ns) so much?

I've noticed that since I moved to the Okanagan years back. Usually it's a casual mocking about driving skills (which is the most self unaware assertion I've ever seen, drivers here are almost universally terrible). Burn sometimes I see legit hatred. Today I saw a BC Strong car sticker, it had a BC Strong logo pissing on "Alberta". It's like a part of the provincial identity to view Alberta as an antagonist or something.

This weird animosity runs entirely one way. No one in Alberta hates BC, and the ones who mock BC are usually just political junkies or they do it in jest. So it's been a very weird type of experience out here witnessing this massive chip on the shoulder.

Why do British Columbians have this chip on their shoulder towards Alberta?
