Opinions on antidepressants

Opinions on antidepressants?

Hi, Im interested in everyone's opinion on antidepressants and if its actually worth it or not? Im in therapy and its been brought up that it would probably be beneficial to start taking antidepressants to hlep improve some symptoms, an in return to that I gave a random response to just try and blow off the idea of it. But in reality my concerns lie with me witnessing at lot of overdose's with a close family member when I was younger. And knowing that young adults under the age of 25 run the risk of increased or causing SI. I do plan on bringing up the concerns Im having to my therapy at so point just probably not right now because of the worry of the direction it might go in when bring up concerns of SI. Ig my question is whats everyone's hot take or experience with antidepressants?
