Should I use a Sex Scene in my film?

First off let me know if I used the right flair.

So I’ve seen lots of discourse on sex scenes. A lot of people seem to hate them or think they are pointless. I was thinking of adding one and using it show my character becoming what her mother wanted. Her mother married for survival and sec was loveless and unenjoyable, which is an idea she pushed in her daughter. The daughter ends up getting a boyfriend her parents don’t approve of because he’s black, and she ends up having sex with him. I don’t know if I should scrap the idea or not. What do you think?
