How long should I expect an IEM to last?

How long have your IEMs lasted you before breaking or how long have you been using your current ones for?

Ive been thinking about upgrading my IEMs and getting the performers 5+2, but i don't really know if i want to fork out that much money for something i cant repair/fix if or when it does break. Because even if you do use and store them carefully, they can still break.
