High dopamine metabolism in functional medicine test

I have visited two different functional medicine doctors for my Fibromyalgia/ME/CFS symptoms and I have done an organic acid urine test two times. One thing that was common in both tests was that Homovanillic acid, the marker which shows how fast your body breaks down dopamine, was elevated. None of the doctors that I saw paid attention to this data and could not interpret it for me. Given that my all other tests are normal (except low morning cortisol), I think my issues might have something to do with the dopamine system. Did you ever have an elevated homovanillic acid in your tests and did anyone interpret that for you? Regarding treatments, I am considering Wellbutrin or low dose Abilify but I don’t know how to make a decision between them. Do you have a recommendation about medication for this case?
