Minecraft - is it that bad?

Is the Minecraft for Switch that bad? I see a ton of comments suggesting it’s not very good.

My 6 yr old is into Minecraft, thanks to the movie and I was thinking about getting him the game but some of the comments have me thinking otherwise.
