Making my own or buying runes

Hi i’m new to rune magick & want to know if i should make or buy runes

If i did make my own would rocks or paper with a sharpie work

The one i’m trying to use is the Elder Futhark & recently bought books on it

More so for spells, but also wouldn’t mind using it for divination to use alongside Seiðr

Tell me your experiences with either runes

Any advice is appreciated, thanks
