New to Nightreign Seamless Coop, Need assistance adjusting scaling

Hello all! I played Nightreign with a four stack the other day and noticed that the bosses seemed a bit easy for the amount of players. I noticed the nrsc_settings.ini file had scaling options so we attempted to adjust those prior to going in. I had all of my friends adjust theirs as well when we went in and there was no apparent change. Does anyone know how to make the scaling changes work? I was attempting this on the same save that I had played on prior to adjustment, could that be the reason for no change in scaling?
