i think i'm ready to quit drinking
the vast majority of my nights out are fun. i have a few drinks, i go home, and all is well. but the bad nights, while less frequent, are starting to take their toll. i go out, very rarely i'll black out, i wake up hungover, and my next day is ruined because all i can do is throw up and lay on the bathroom floor. regardless of how the night went, i have horrific hangxiety more often than not, and it follows me for weeks.
the physical, mental, and financial toll of it is not worth it anymore. it's just too much. the hangovers are especially brutal, and sometimes when i drink i get really depressed, and i'm already bipolar so my lows are low. i can't say that my drinking damages my relationships with those around me, but it is definitely damaging my relationship with myself. i deserve better than what i am putting myself through. anyone does.
anyways. i don't know why i am putting it here, because i know it doesn't need to be some big formal declaration, but i think i would just like some words of encouragement while i try the whole sobriety thing out and see how it works for me.
thank you!
