Help Needed: Looking for advice on women’s winter corporate shoe options
Hi fellow corporate folks,
I’m looking to majorly upgrade my winter footwear and need some help. My feet are kind of complicated - I’m a tall woman and while I am slender, my feet are wide in the metatarsal (thanks to my dad for giving me that fun genetic present), so finding business appropriate footwear is a major challenge, particularly with boots / booties that come from brands that are not available in wide OR have knee high boots in wide but that also means wide calf - and I’d be swimming in them as I don’t have wide calves, just wide feet.
The challenge is that I commute into NYC several times a week and am at a higher leadership position at my company. Our office is extremely small and there is zero personal storage space so I can’t store nice shoes in the office as I used to and change into them once I arrive. I also can’t always / consistently fit an extra pair of shoes in my work bag because I have to fully bring all my work equipment (computer, stand, wireless accessories like keyboard etc.) into the office and take it all back home at the end of the day.
Anyway. I’m looking for black / brown boots or booties that - if not available in a wider width - are stretchy vs made of a material with no give and are chic / stylish enough for an NYC office where I have a lot of client meetings but also need to walk in the rain to/from subways, etc. I’ve scoured the internet and have found a few leads but am reluctant to purchase expensive footwear without hearing from actual customers so I figured I’d start a thread here. Thanks in advance for your help!
