How do I develop a sense of responsibility?

I am going to get a lot of hate for this post the same way I get hate irl but how do you develop it? My mom has been very controlling right from the start and I was never let to do anything because of her control issues. Since everything was done for her by me I didn’t really need to look into things that deeply . It is affecting my work place. So is my laziness. I just need a break tbh. Working nonstop with long work hrs . I don’t get a day off. I start work at five and finish work at 12am.
