CBSA BSO - What’s it like working in the Ontario region at a land crossing?

Hi all,

I’m a current long term public service employee, with a history in CSC and DND. I know it sounds crazy, but I miss the shift work. I’m not exactly one for the M-F.

Are there any active BSOs in the Ontario region at land crossings lurking this sub? I have questions about the types of shifts available, what shifts you’re likely to have maybe based on seniority, pros of the job, major cons, the general morale (I know the survey rates it low, but so is CSC and I still faired well enough there lol), etc. I don’t want to take the survey to heart as I know opinions vary greatly across Canada and by type of POE.

If anyone has some insights or feels comfortable to DM me, it would be greatly appreciated. I have a pretty flexible position in DND that I’m worried about passing up for CBSA, but am interested in exploring it more as I’m in the active process right now.
