Could hypermobility be what’s causing foot pain and ear issues for me?

15 AFAB, ~125 lbs, 5’ 4”

For context, I have had lifelong issues with foot pain and my ears that are minimally invasive to my day-to-day life, especially as I’ve grown used to them, but that I wonder if are connected to my hypermobility.

I used the Beighton Scoring System to assess my hypermobility, and as far as I can tell, I have generalized hypermobility; however, I don’t experience any of the symptoms of hypermobility spectrum disorder or hEDS. Still, I’m wondering if being hypermobile could be the cause of the aforementioned issues. I don’t have any other relevant diagnoses and am generally quite healthy.

To go into more specifics, I experience foot pain if I remain standing in the same place for longer than 10 minutes, even with shoes that have insoles customized to my feet. The pain is enough to be uncomfortable but not necessarily painful and can be alleviated by standing on the sides of my foot instead or by pacing around a little. I think that I experience more foot pain than the general population when I walk continuously for certain lengths of time, but it isn’t unreasonable.

As for my ears, I have had difficulties with them popping to an obnoxious frequency since I was a toddler. Swallowing, yawning, and coughing are among the actions that can trigger them to pop. Last year, I had ear tubes put in, and experienced temporary cessation of any ear wonkiness, but it has since returned, particularly in my right ear. I have minor hearing loss in that ear as a result of these issues.

In addition, I occasionally hear whooshing in my ears, particularly when I have one ear against something and the other one not. Again, this isn’t disruptive.

When I posted on this subreddit a few months ago about my ear issues in specific, I was told by one person that it could be due to hypermobility in my ear (with the Eustachian tubes?), and I’ve seen that high or low arches in the foot are correlated with hypermobility as well.

I’m wondering if these symptoms are, indeed, all connected to each other and whether or not I should bring up my hypermobility at an upcoming ENT appointment.
