Do you not get bot matches in quickplay when playing with a friend?

I've noticed when playing by myself after getting 1 or 2 losses, I'll get thrown into a pity bot lobby. However, with a friend around, if we go on a losing streak, we'll not be put in any bot lobbies. Has anyone else experienced this, or is this just confirmation bias?
