Instructor placed on leave after student accuses them of discriminating against her beliefs.
I don't think anyone in this sub agrees with the student, but I want this case publicized so that there is no way the university of Oklahoma can take action against the professor without serious backlash.
Do yourself a favor and read the student's submission as well as the instructor's response.
It would be funny if it wasn't so fucking stupid and serious. I honestly cannot fathom being such a colossal moron that I read what this dumb girl wrote and come away thinking that she was a brilliant truth-teller speaking against societal ills. She mentions "God" like 20 times and cites no sources other than a vague reference to Genesis. Meanwhile, the TA's response is so mild, taking time to distinguish the criticism of the assignment from any personal reservations they had with the student's beliefs.
Remember: conservatives like this stupid student are the same people who don't want the history of racism to be taught in school. There is no true concern for "ideological indoctrination," they simply want their ideology to be taught unopposed with minimal (if any) critiques. The Don't Say Gay Bill and anti-CRT propaganda were just excuses to push ideas they didn't like out of the classroom so that they had more room for theirs, no matter the proximity to truth nor the level of empirical support.
Conservative brainrot is a virus without a vaccine. The only way it stops is if we make sure they aren't rewarded and successful in their attempts to suppress dissent.
