The importance of autonomy and control
After a recent flare-up that took a toll on my body AND my mind, I realised how important it is to feel like there is something I can control.
So much is taken from us, and life changes so drastically it's difficult to imagine the world where I once walked around the city for hours or stayed up dancing until 1am.
So even if it is just rubbing ice-gel onto my neck, or using an electric massager, or stretching, the idea that I have some power to make a choice, to control one little moment in my day is key to maintaining some sanity through the flare-ups.
Do you agree?
What do you do to remind yourself that you're still in there on the worst days?
Thanks, Vee
