MMW: Markwayne Mullin will run for president in 2028.
Evidence: Ever since his absolutely disgraceful questioning of former CDC director Susan Monarez I've noticed he has upped his media and social media presence. I have noticed because I always say to myself "Well lookee lookee look look. Markwayne Mullin is lying again."
I hadn't seen much of him since he picked a fight with Sean O'Brien, now suddenly he's all over the place. Any chance he gets to pretend he's Trumps BFF he's all about it. Last weekend he posted about working *over the weekend* with Trump in the Oval - but Trump was in Florida at the time. This morning he got on CNN to defend Trump's pardoning of a drug trafficker, among other things. He's on the armed services committee so maybe it makes sense he has an opinion of the "Don't obey illegal orders." thing. But mostly he's just volunteering to spout off so he can get his name out there.
Why? He's not up for re-election this cycle so I reckon he's priming for a presidential run. After ten years in the house he was elected to the senate in 2022. By 2028 he'll have 16 years experience on the Hill. I think he thinks it's his time and his turn.
Date: When do people generally announce these things. After the midterms? 2027? Republican primaries are in the spring of 2028 so lets say by fall 2027 for sure.
