Unhealthy habits
I (21F) recently started a relationship with 24M. Its my first real relationship and it’s honestly been good. I do feel like I’ve been having obsessive thoughts concerning his social media and things do that sort of thing. For example, the other day, I was undeniably curious, and basically searched through his twitter post. I found myself searching specific words and essentially saw some things from a year(+) ago that kinda makes me look at him a bit differently. Simply because I’m a bit afraid that he may have a preference for a certain type of woman and I don’t think I fall along that preference. And I don’t want to ask because what if I don’t…he reassures me that he doesn’t mind my questions, we’re okay, he loves me, etc etc. but I’ve learned that me seeking that validation when I have these thoughts doesn’t help and just creates a cycle of anxiety. And I’m also scared that eventually it’ll all become too much, because what if it actually does become too much for him. I don’t want to hurt him or our relationship, and I’m already in therapy so I’m going to bring this up so we can work on that but is there anything that you all can suggest that might help reinforce that I don’t need to check his social media?
