Most ecommerce problems aren’t marketing or traffic issues — they’re backend issues nobody talks about.

Most ecommerce problems aren’t marketing or traffic issues — they’re backend issues nobody talks about.

I’ve been working on automating Shopify and WooCommerce systems, and something I keep seeing over and over:

• Order syncing failures

• Inventory mismatches

• Slow or broken API calls

• Manual CSV uploads

• ERP integrations that only work “sometimes”

• Tools that don’t sync at all

• Hours lost fixing issues every single day

The truth is:

Most stores run on messy systems held together by quick fixes.

And when you scale, those cracks become expensive.

Just sharing a few things I’ve learned that help stabilize operations:

  1. Use webhooks instead of cron jobs whenever possible.
  2. If you rely on CSV uploads, move to SFTP automation (way more reliable).
  3. Make sure your ERP/CRM is actually mapping the fields your store uses.
  4. Validate all API responses — don’t assume they returned what you expect.
  5. Never let your store depend on a single “custom script” nobody understands.
  6. Build monitoring logs — 90% of issues can be seen before they get big.

If anyone here is struggling with backend issues, broken integrations, API errors, or automation questions, I’m happy to explain or point you in the right direction.

Not trying to sell anything — just want to help anyone running into the same problems I see every week.

Ask anything. I’ll answer.
