So, day two and we're all set with the design for the case itself, and now the core things that we're concerned about are the lighting and its place (around the mirror- image 1, or on the ceiling - -image 2) And this may be a crossroad as both approaches work at different voltages and power draw itself, and so I ask of this humble community to help me out on this.

Secondly, I'm simultaneously working on the roof or the rooftop and the way it's gonna open up, as it will house and conceal the battery, the led wiring and the lever mechanism that would be connected to the keychain and a separate contact point above, in the rooftop itself, completing the circuit and lighting the leds.

According to me, I think that letting the rooftop open up with a hinge on one side, and putting two strings and custom built hairpins combo on the other to secure the rooftop, closely resembling the hood pins on the dodge, mustang and the other american muscle cars(see image 3), as well as a foldable hood prop or the stick thingy that comes in cars to hold the hood in place while someone's working on it(see image 4). That should look sick and also give a car-like feel every time I open it up to change the cell or to access something within.

Also, for the rechargeable battery, since many of the people here showed concern for the supposed inability to charge the entire thing every single time, I'm thinking of building a custom 3d printed battery housing case that has an inbuilt c-type charging interface and also could be disconnected from the hotwheels display case, to be kept on charging - (the way some ev vehicles come with the option to disconnect the battery pack to take it home for charging.)

Also, I guess I've also figured out some of the trims for the categorisation of the entire project into products that could serve a purpose and not remain a functional prototype:-

\- Base model - works on alkaline batteries (fixed light led - options in choice of lights) - (most affordable)

\- Rechargeable model with green and red leds showcasing charge and discharge and battery low state (option between fixed light and rgb addressable led)

\- Rechargeable model with a dot matrix/led number display module showcasing charge in percentage (option between rgb and fixed led)

\- Rechargeable model with a led display showcasing charge in percentage and has a built in time module that activates the light at dusk (sunset) and turns it off automatically at dawn (sunrise) (option between rgb and fixed led) - (Full on IOT type build)

\- a last one being the highest trim, offering everything + somewhat open to much more customization from the buyer and could come with an app that monitors the battery percentage and offers colour changing palette for the rgb led and sends notifications for low battery (the costliest one and the coolest one out of all of them)

I'm working out the calculations for now and trying to ensure that all the rechargeable versions should last for at least a week or two or more with a full charge, and the alkaline ones should last a month or two in that case, with a daily usage of more than 10-12 hours or more.

Until then, my update ends over here (as all of y'all can see, this thing is a rabbit hole all by itself and that's why I'm so interested and passionate about building this.)

Stay tuned for the next update.

DAY TWO of building "the hotwheels display led keychain light up holder" thingy...
