Cps
So I have an assessment phase open with CPS and I was told that it would end in 2 weeks as long as I continued to pee clean, found an out patient recovery meetings and was with my mom or sponsor at all times when with my kids. It was the protection plan. And I clarified 3 times that as long as I followed through with the protection plan that they would close the assessment phase. And she kept saying" As long as no one makes a referral"..
Idk who the fuck else would make a referral. I'm not like raging around with my children being a whack job. I was always definitely a closet tweaker. There was drugs in my system when I had my baby. I was planning on going up to a 120 day mommy and me program in Denver which is why my kids weren't immediately removed. So me and my kids all went up there but they wouldn't allow us to check in because my baby was on oxygen.
So we remained up in Denver for 3 -4 weeks going to the pediatrician weekly hoping we would be able to get him off oxygen them eventually had to return back to my parents house cause we could no longer stay with my friends cause they were going through their own family business..
I was clean the whole time, except alcohol, with no problem at all. No triggers. It was smooth sailing. I hated the thought of coming back down here cause I knew this is where all my triggers are. Sure as shit.
I initially went the first week And half sober. Then used. Then 4 days. Then it was like every 3 days I would break. So because of that I wouldnt go take my UA tests because Id rather not pee than confirm it for them. But I truly am seeking help and I really want to get clean. So I finally just snitched on myself to my case worker and told her I'm not telling you for you I'm telling you guys for me. I don't want to lie and sneak around and want the accountability, NEED, the accountability that comes with UA testing. Signed protection plan saying I wouldn't be alone with the kids and would have a sober care provider around at all times in case of relapse. Well I have a feeling they are still going to fully open the case. Cause they kept asking my mo. If shed be willing to take the kids while I did a different 60 day program here in town.
Question #1
If I just sign guardianship over to my mom before they take the case any further, would that prevent the. From being able to put the kids in the states custody.
Because even if they did remove the kids from my care and to my parents, the state gets custody and my parents are considered "kinship"
Also because it is just the assessment phase and we signed the contract saying that I wouldnt be alone with the kids. There's nothing saying that my mother, me, and kids can't leave town.
I am still going to be sober. Though I will do whatever I have to prevent my children from going into the system. And leaving would actually get me away from all the BS.
Question 2 Also leaving before they can declare the case being fully opened. So no documented communication of furthering the case. And we would still be within our guidelines of our contract.
