Failed bowl
Hi guys, so I tried to make my first bowl today, using a faceplate, as that is the only thing I have. I tried to turn the outside of the bowl first with some between centers turning, and then I flattened the base of the bowl and screwed it to the faceplate. After turning the inside of the bowl, I realized that I couldn't finish the outside base of the bowl properly anymore, as it was stuck to the faceplate, and I couldn't attach the faceplate to the inside part of the bowl. So, I decided to cut a valley kind of shape between the screws and the base of my bowl so I could finish the base of the bowl properly. However, I cut a little too far to the rim of the bowl, and now there is a small gap between the base and walls of my bowl. How do I go about turning a bowl properly with a faceplate, without a chuck or anything like that. And is it possible to save this bowl with epoxy or something similar? Thanks.
