Apartment WiFi “BitTorrent Block”

Open | Networking

I’ve been living at my apartment for about three months and haven’t had any issues with their wifi provider until about two weeks ago.

The wireless network and my Ethernet on my pc suddenly stopped working. After calling the customer service line, they revealed that they had blocked my pc from the internet because they had detected BitTorrent usage.

I haven’t used BitTorrent in the past 5 years and all of the softwares that support listed off that may flag as it. For these past two weeks, they’ve unblocked it hours after I call and report the issue just for it to be reblocked after a few more hours.

I’ve run malwarebytes to see if I have some type of virus torrenting in the background and it didn’t flag anything.

Does anybody have any ideas? I feel like I’ve tried everything they have suggested and anything I can think of short of wiping all of my data off of the pc.
