Anyone had any luck getting a drone into Hawaii recently?

Hi everyone, I’m coming over to your beautiful islands this week from NZ. I wanted to try get some drone shots (legally) of our holiday. But with all the things going on with DJI and other matters I’m having second thoughts.

From what I’ve read and could find, it seems like 50/50 hit and miss with people getting them in or being confiscated. But no real answer given or found.

Any tips or advice I’d appreciate thank you.
