LOCATION: Phoenix, AZ - Family Law Aid

Hi everyone, I’m looking for guidance on finding free or low-cost legal help for a custody and relocation matter.

I’m a stay at home mom to a 2 year old, and I’ve been the primary caregiver since birth. His father and I are no longer together. There is no physical abuse, but the relationship is emotionally unhealthy, and communication is difficult and unproductive. I do not have any income of my own right now because I’ve been home caring for our child full-time.

I am hoping to relocate with my son back to Pennsylvania, where I have stable housing options and family support (including childcare from my mother so I can return to work). Remaining in Arizona is not financially sustainable for me as a single parent without income or family support.

I’ve tried to work out a parenting agreement with his father, but he refuses to discuss relocation under any circumstances. He frequently travels for work and is often out of the state for days or weeks at a time, so I currently provide almost all daily care and routine for our child.

I cannot afford a private attorney, but I do need legal assistance so I can pursue a parenting plan or relocation request properly. I’m not trying to take my son away from his father, but also need a better life than this.

If anyone knows of family-law resources, legal aid clinics, or low-cost attorneys in Phoenix who handle custody or relocation cases, I would greatly appreciate the direction.
