I’m aware this a bit of rant but i wanted to give my thoughts on the state of Rocket.

I know Gambit and Invis are probably more powerful picks right now, but Rocket is still a strong pick in his own right and he keeps getting buffs for some reason. Gambit and Invis also require actual aim/positioning/cooldown management while all Rocket has to do is place his beacon and ult in not dumb spots(something that’s easy to do but people still fail at somehow). His rez and ult provide insane value in fights for being simple deployables.

He‘s basically unkillable to characters that have to aim the moment he gets to a wall he can climb, while having the smallest hit box and constant self-heal(this is even more annoying to deal with on controller where it’s harder to aim). I was already shocked they buffed CnD to 275hp but if Rocket ever gets that treatment I think he will actually become invincible to anything that’s not an ult he can‘t easily dodge.

I know there are a few Rocket players that take more advantage of his surprisingly good close-range damage, but it doesn’t change the fact that 90% of them just sit back and heal bot with projectiles that don’t require much aim. It’s gotten to a point that anyone doing bad in a ranked match immediately swaps to Rocket because they know they’ll easily get free value with him. I guess he has low carry potential so that kinda makes up for it?

I’m totally fine with the game having simple and “low skill” characters that can provide value, but I think with Rocket it’s getting to a point that’s a bit ridiculous. I’m not saying he needs a nerf necessarily and again I know Gambit and Invis are stronger picks and imo they are both overtuned right now but at least they require some engagement on the players end to be effective. Do you guys think there’s anyway the devs could make Rocket a bit more interesting to engage with both as the Rocket player and someone who has to shoot him?

Rank doesn’t really matter but I’ve been a GM flex player since release, and I feel like Rocket is starting to go a bit overboard for how simple he is. Sorry if this is a bit long or has any grammatical errors I just enjoy talking about this game’s balance. This is also my first Reddit post so thats my excuse lol.

Kinda sick of how much value Rocket gives to a team for how simple he is to play
