Good cat tracker that doesn’t require an in-app subscription? (Canada)

Hoping to train my 1 year old orange maincoon/tabby to be an outside cat part time (only during daylight hours) I don’t want him to roam free without a tracker though. I’ve heard Tractive is a good one but the in app purchase isn’t desirable neither is the battery life. Any suggestions?
