Artes sphere in the tales of xillia remastered.

I get the first 4 artes are set with the regular button direction. Artes 5-8 are with the left analog with L1. I have the artes sphere which is supposed to allow for Right analog stick aka artes 9-16 setting of artes, but the right analog stick is working for any of the directions I am doing for it. Controller itself works fine. Game is fine aside from oddball freezing here and there.
