Mis-remembered my evaluation period cutoff... now what?

So I mis-remembered my evaluation period cutoff and it's in two days instead of at the end of next week like I thought. I'm way short of making the 80 review cutoff for Gold and I'm pretty sure there's no way I'm making it before the deadline. (I try to actually use items for some time before reviewing, so I have quite a backlog of items to review.)

So, a couple of questions about what to do:

1. From reading multiple other threads, it seems sometimes reviews submitted (but still pending) count toward evaluation right away, but sometimes it can take a couple of days, right? so on that basis I don't think there's a point in my trying to rush the remaining reviews.
2. Once I'm in the next evaluation period, is there a point in my reviewing the items from the previous period? Will those reviews count toward my total for the next evaluation?
3. If they do count - then should I "bank" the outstanding reviews and only post them once I'm in the next period, since there's no point to posting them now if I'm not gonna make the cutoff anyway? (Strange as it may sound, I don't like ordering items unnecessarily just to make up my order/review count, so it'd be nice if I can make the 80 review threshold next period without having to order 80 items...)
