Baby won’t sleep without me

Sleep

He’s almost 19 weeks old and he only contact naps. Fine, I have figured my way through that as I work for myself from home but the nights have gotten worse. Up until he was 2 months, he was sleeping in his bassinet. He only slept 2-3 hours at a time (exclusively breastfed) but I figured it would change over time. Around 3 months, I was really having a hard time without my sleep and gave in and co-slept against my wishes to keep him in the bassinet. I finally slept. It was amazing, I was getting 5-6 hour stretches while my baby had an all you can eat buffet all night. I thought we had it figured out. I even started putting him in his bassinet after the first feeding of the night, sleep alone 2 hours & then bring him into bed when he awoke.

Now, for a week or so, he won’t sleep without me at all. If I roll away, he wakes up. If I roll away without waking him, he wakes up during the transfer. If I get him transferred, he won’t sleep more than 20 min. Now I’m scared to even try because it just lengthens the process before I can also. And to top it off, he’s not sleeping as much as before! I’ve had to wake up numerous times throughout the night to switch sides or soothe him instead of gliding through the night like we had been.

I read posts of babies sleeping in their cribs for naps or sleeping through the night at 12 weeks… I know at this point it’s the temperament of the baby that matters. We just started purées so maybe he will be less hunger at night soon. Sometimes I think this is my punishment for having a really quick and easy delivery lol. I just want to sleep a little and have sex again (just a little!). Guess I’m just ranting and looking for solidarity.
