M33 self employed floorlayer
As some brief background of myself I have worked the last 10 years flooring, and found myself twice over that period fed up with the way companies who I have subcontracted to treating me. I have some great experience under my belt from manufacturing, production and management dues to my “in between” jobs one lead me to learn CAD and the use of CNC and laser cutters. The other was within Nestle as a line tech confectioner. The reasons I returned to flooring was due to me quite enjoying working hands on however I genuinely feel like my ship has sailed within the flooring industry and it’s toxic environment is really becoming something I cannot simply look past anymore… plus I’m getting old and my knees hurt.
Has anyone in a similar position ever taken the full plunge from self employed to say working within an office environment or even hybrid working ?
