I think my parent likes me being dependant on them

And they have weird sense of boundaries it feels almost suffocating at times it creeps me out I cant explain it. Does anybody know what I mean? Whenever we have an argument or something too they basically threaten I'll have to fend for myself completely so its like one extreme to the other
