Missing her and getting over what could’ve been
Hello there,
I broke up with my girlfriend late July and still think about her almost everyday. We were not together for long, a little bit over a year, but we had been friends for 6 years. We didn’t really talk much for like 5 of these years, we were both in relationships and always felt chemistry so we just naturally drifted. Last year I couldn’t believe that we had reconnected and soon after starting dating. It had been something both of us thought was just a teenage dream that would never happen. But it finally happened, we lived out the fantasies we dreamed about when we first met. But unfortunately, we were long distance, and I had just come out of a long relationship and had a lot of self discovery to do. Being far away from each other soon started to take its toll, the monthly visits were not enough. I wasn’t ready to commit to a plan of moving in with her, I had just moved back home. So I decided to break things off.
I still love her, and grieve the life we could have had together. I’ve never been a jealous person, but I will always feel jealous of the people that get the privilege to be driving distance from her. We both are seeing other people now, but I can’t get rid of the thought of us. How do I move on? How do I stop missing her?
