Frustrated with fps drops that began when I switched from directx 11 to directx 12

My PC has a 13700k, 4070, and 32gb of ddr5 ram. It used to be able to run fortnite just fine but ever since I switched the rendering mode from directx11 to directx12 it has crazy fps drops. I don’t know how to fix it. I switched it back to directx 11 but the problem still persists. I don’t know if its an issue with my hardware or if it’s an issue with fortnite specifically. My pc runs other games such as overwatch, marvel rivals, and valorant just fine. Has anyone had this issue and fixed it?
