Specialization Proposal: Give Recon Senses back to the Medium class.
However, it will no longer detect players through walls. Instead, it will:
- Highlight active deployable gadgets (turrets, mines, C4, gateways, etc.)...or Would it be better to hide the gadget type and show only the location?
- Show the outline of Cashout Stations and Cash Boxes.
- Identify nearby props and their types.
- Detect players using Cloaking Device, Magic Bomb, or Thermal Vision.
This vision is shared with teammates, and detected targets receive a warning.
.
This specialization does not operate as an on/off toggle; instead, it uses a charge system (2+ stacks).
When used, a circular pulse expands outward from the user, and this pulse is visually identifiable.
In other words, the user exposes their approximate location in exchange for scouting the enemy team’s defensive setup.
The opposing team can also tell that their setup has been revealed.
---
Since this specialization detects the already underused Cloaking Device, it might feel like another blow to its relevance.
But if counters return to the game, maybe the current excessive shimmer and noise of the Cloaking Device could be toned down?
Since the ability has limited uses and, unlike Thermal Vision, informs enemies that they’ve been detected, its potential as a counter may be weaker than expected.
.
What this specialization would counter more reliably are the Magic Bomb and Thermal Vision.
These two can disable their equipment to avoid detection, but doing so puts them on cooldown.
Since using them currently comes with no real risk, having something that can properly counter them is necessary. In addition, when Thermal Vision is eventually reintroduced to the game, this counterplay could help protect teammates using a Cloaking Device.
.
Right now, the game suffers from broken SBMM and imbalance between solo queue and multi-stack parties.
In random matchmaking, it’s hard to share information, and many teammates simply rush sites without thinking.
If this specialization provides information directly on the pre-engagement screen, those players might also consider more efficient attacking routes.
My biggest concern is that too much information on the screen could make the UI messy.
.
Would this specialization bring a positive change to the game?
