Should I keep my armor or sell it?

I got my armor 3-4 months ago and still have yet to bring it to the range to train with it. And Ive kind of gone down the rabbit hole of armor being in an SHTF scenario. And If I get hit in the plate I'd kind of just suffer, because I don't know anyone in my friend grow or training group that has access to advanced medical or even the training almost.

Im deciding to go down the .308 route due to my area having way to long of shots for 5.56 to be effective. Also with the considerations of highways, cars, etc. So without armor I'd take my kit from a 35 pound plate carrier down to a 17-22 pound chest rig that could sustain me for 24 hours on a stretch.

Should I keep the armor to wear under a chest rig or sell it and stay dedicated to a chest rig? Because my setup is meant for reconnaissance, observation, sustainment, and to get to a certain place in under 36 hours.
