Just beat the game, wanted to share my thoughts

SpoilerDiscussion

Overall really loved it. Felt like a big step up from the first in many aspect, and a great scratch for the New Vegas itch I always have.

Combat was fun, loved the goofiness and creativity of abilities and weapons. I did a science/engineering run, used GARY, N-Rage and Armageddon, was very fun. Glad they made science a much better combat choice than the first game, and it also came with a lot of good dialogue.

I ended up having Auntie's Choice and the Order ally, partially due to meta gaming of that usually being the best choice, and partially thinking they could make up for each others faults, with Aunties having logistics and knowing what people want, and the Order having knowledge and the real desire to better humanity. I'm glad that ending wasn't all sunshine though, with them at each others throats soon enough, makes me curious if a full order run is better.

As far as complaints go I have a few notable, I think the DLCs can help resolve them though:

Probably my biggest gripe is the protectorate is almost exclusively shoot on sight after Paradise Island. I get not having them being a faction you can side with, but it would have been nice to have more non hostile settlements with quests you can do. Hoping DLC has more of this.

Other issue was the High Security Lockboxes. I actually thought it was a pretty cool idea, but they become far too sparse after Dorado. It may have been simply my build not matching the gear well, but I ended up having more keys than I needed by a long shot. I probably would've put some more loot in the boxes because of that, but I'm curious what other peoples opinion on them is.

I'm already very tempted to start a new game, which is rare for big RPGs like this. Usually I wait a bit, but I'm very curious to do a dumb melee run with aunties choice or a stealth run with the order. Hoping DLCs come out soon, as that may be what I wait on before having another go.
