YOUR VISA IS REFUSED UNDER 221(g) IN NEPAL, KTM FOR H1B STAMPING (INFORMATIONAL)

I had an appointment for h1b visa stamping on Nov 12, 2025. This is my first h1b and came back to nepal for stamping. They asked normal questions like where do you work, how long, some brief details about work. Unfortunately i didn’t take my LCA with me coz i didn’t find that as part of required documents in their website. So, i got the pink slip with these details to be dropped in one of the locations.

  1. LCA
  2. 5 years of pay stubs of ALL THE EMPLOYEES
  3. 5 years of LIST OF EMPLOYEES and their immigration status
  4. 5 years of corporate TAX RETURNS

I think this is such a overkill but this tells the process has been tightened and can go south.

Fortunately, my employer was ready to provide these documents, which took me about a week. Imagine printing all the paystubs of all the employees for last 5 years. Crazy. I dropped all the requested docs at nepal investment bank on Nov 20th. I was continuously checking the status online. Finally, on 25th nov, I saw the status updated to APPROVED from REFUSED. And on Nov 27th, the status was updated to ISSUED. On 30th Nov, got an email to pick up the passport.

It should ve been straightforward process for H1b people but visa officer, they just want to give you a hard time. But i can tell, refusal rate for F1 is above 90%. Everyone in front of me were denied and i was on an interview line for about an hour.

Anyways, good luck to everyone trying to get stamping from nepal kathmandu. Don’t forget your LCA. But don’t worry even if you get RCA, as long as you have valid work and everything in place, you should be good. Takes bout 2 weeks max.
