Kept My Plan and New iPhone on Verizon

As the title says, we got two new iPhone 17 Pros, while keeping our Get More and Play a more Plans. We had a balance of $499 each on two iPhone 15 Pros. Verizon offered to pay off our old phones and give us new phones on them. However each time I tried doing this on their website constantly showed that they would payoff the outstanding balance on our old phones but that we owed $30.55 on each new phone for 36 months.

I contacted customer service who promptly told me, the deal was good but constantly told me that Verizon would give me $730 in trade and I needed to switch to unlimited. I told the agent that Verizon paying off the old phones but charging us $30.55 each was not phones on them but on me. That’s not the deal they advertised. After listening to the agents attempts to switch me to a Unlimted plan, I told the agent that I didn’t want to discuss any plan changes or deals other than the one where Verizon paid the balance on the old phones and give us the new phones on them.

40 minutes later, the agent finally said Verizon would payoff our old phones, and give us the 17 Pro’s for no cost over a 36 month period. When the contract arrived, everything was as we agreed, no changes to our original plans but after all credits were applied we would have to pay $3.50 for each phone for 36 months. I balked about this change, knowing that I’d take it however the agent offered to offset that change, only one activation fee would be applied instead of two and he gave us a $20 credit for 12 months.

If you get offered this deal, don’t let them talk you out of it.
