How best to glue up 3” end grain offcuts?

I came into possession of a nice box of offcuts, each is 1.5” square and I will cut them all to a desired length of a couple inches (will be thickness if my end-grain board).

Is there any trick to gluing up these individual blocks? Should I use a caul and glue up one row at a time? End game is an end-grain board.
