Looking for help with workflow - digital camera, iphotos from me and my wife, and also some videos from my dji handheld
Hello,
I'm looking for guidance on a workflow that might work well for me. Ideally, I'd like to store the photos I like best in iphotos so that it is propogated to my phones and ipad. I'll start by providing some background information of my set up.
- digital camera that is fixed 28mm. I could go with a dSLR but I have a toddler so I opted for a nice fixed lens dSLR that goes down to f1.7.
- iphone that I use when I need to zoom in or out. Also record videos.
- dji mimo that I use to capture some videos and also do time lapse.
- wife uses her iphone only. It would be great to be able to also get the photos she captured on a trip so that we have all our vacation photos in one spot.
- I have a subscription to lightroom with local and cloud. I've read some workstreams where folks keep everything local and only move their favorites up to the cloud but to be honest, the folder architecture in local is not great.
- M3 macbook pro w 36GB RAM
- 2TB home local storage that is on the network
Ideally, I think I need to do a better job of cleaning up and deleting 50% of the stuff in my iPhotos that I took just to share in a chat. I'm sure others have dealt with the same issue so looking for guidance on a workflow that would allow me to have all my digital media in one spot. I was thinking lightroom may be that spot but let me know if you think there's a better solution out there.
Apple makes it so easy by offering you more and more online storage so you never need to cull but it really isn't the solution.
