Trying to narrow down stay and could use advice

My partner and I booked flights to PV in mid February and we were trying to decide between AirBNBs vs hotels. For our rooming budget we are thinking $1500 for 5 days ($300 a night). We would like to be within a 20 minute walk of the beach, and near shops/restaurants.

We were thinking 5 de Diciembre area as it is walkable and not as crazy as Zona Romántica.

But we are seeing places in Las Glorias that look nice, however we are afraid that they would be too far away from walking distance activities.
