Path to top macro funds/desks?

While there are plenty of resources and roadmaps for breaking into HFTs, there’s far less guidance on how to build a profile for top-tier discretionary or systematic macro funds/desks like Rokos, Brevan Howard, Citadel, or Millennium.

For someone with a strong interest in macro, market news, and the broader economy, combined with a quantitative background, what’s the path to entering one of these macro desks or funds?
