Christmas gift

My mom is 73 and starting to have some memory issues that I'm not sure are normal age-related. She repeats herself during conversations and can't recall something she told me just a few days ago. Otherwise, she can take care of herself, her finances, and lives alone. She won't let me attend her Doctor's appointments and brushes off my concerns.

Well, with Christmas coming up, I asked her what she would like. A few weeks ago she said she wanted to go out to afternoon tea with me. I found a nice place, this weekend asked when she would like to go and she had no idea that she had chosen this for her present. She doesn't want that anymore, and has now chosen something else for a gift, underwear. Seems a little odd but I'll do it. I'm just shaking my head at the weirdness.
