Instagram PRIORITY POSTS NOTIFICATIONS not working

I have priority notifications turned on for a bunch of accounts but I only receive story notifications but not when they post. I've been having this problem for almost a year now and waiting for an update to fix it seems hopeless and I've also tried every troubleshooting I found.

Anyone else having this problem?
